Alcohol commonly refers to beverages such as beer, liquor, and wine that contain ethanol. Drinking these beverages can result in intoxication.

Alcohol often causes nausea and vomiting, and in more severe cases can cause excessive sedation, slowed breathing, and dangerously low blood sugar.

Vomiting while impaired or unconscious due to alcohol intoxication can result in aspiration or asphyxiation, which can be deadly.
