Colleen Cowdery
Dr. Colleen Cowdery is an emergency medicine physician and medical toxicologist who has recently joined the Washington Poison Center in 2025 as the Chief Medical Officer. Born in North Florida, she completed medical school at the University of Florida and emergency medicine residency at the University of Florida Jacksonville. Following this, she moved to Oregon for medical toxicology fellowship with the Oregon Poison Center at the Oregon Health and Science University. Her particular research interests include calcium channel blocker overdose treatment, Lepidella mushroom toxicity, and access to treatments for opioid use disorder to prevent fentanyl-related deaths. Dr. Cowdery now joins family in the Seattle area, where she enjoys hiking, camping, reading, and playing tabletop games with friends and family.
